Blog 7: Changes to my Study programme
Hello to all.
As you see from the title, this blog will be about the Sociology degree syllabus. Given that, there would be a few things I would add to the content being taught.
On the one hand, I would like to see reflections on the concept of postmodernity implemented. Our career is focused on a sociology of modernity but we are not informed much about the concept of postmodernity and why it generates so much controversy. On the other hand, I would add a short course on politics or political philosophy to give you a good grounding in the currents of thought that influence sociology today.
Along with that, I would reinforce a little more about the programming courses that are taught. At first, I would delve into the theoretical aspects of programming. In a second moment, I would delve into programming as such.
However, the socioeconomic factor is an important factor when deciding whether the course should last longer or not, given that it is very expensive. My career lasts 5 years and even so, feeling that there are some considerable gaps, I feel that it should last, I would add one more year to liven up these gaps.
Regarding infrastructure, I would like the buildings to have large rooms with good infrastructure since the rooms at FACSO are horrible, old and very small.
Finally, regarding technology, I would like us to have better and updated computers because our career requires programming and working with large databases. If we do not have good computers, we will not be able to work with large databases.
