Blog 3: The Pandemic Uncertainty

  •  How have you and your family coped with this quarantine?

It is difficult to say how I have faced it with my family because during this time a lot of things have happened inside my home.

During the month of April 2020 we had covid, fortunately it was not so difficult to overcome it but it remains in the retina to know that no matter how much you take care of yourself this can reach your home because of unconsciousness, ignorance, social inequality, etc.

Personally, the confinement opened childhood wounds because of the feeling of being locked up and not being able to get out. For a year it was very difficult to keep my heart strong. Now, at present, I am used to the confinement but it hurts me what is happening day by day.

  • Can it be an opportunity to improve as a society?

This is complex. I feel it can unite us by the support and fight to keep us stable and safe from contagion. For example, based on social inequalities and disgusting governmental measures, there have been raffles, common pots, among other popular actions for support among neighbors of scarce resources.

On the other hand, we may be fragmented as a society by the stupidity of some who continue to think that this is an invention of the elites who seek to control those who do not think, stupidity that does not take measures to take care of themselves or those close to them. Affecting, in a gratuitous way, those who seek to take care of themselves at all costs.

I do not condemn those who go out on the streets to take a break from their home environment, I condemn those who have the economic means and social means to have a full life within their homes and yet go out carelessly. I condemn those who, because of their opulence, think that the distribution of wealth, of social goods, the quality of health, is horizontal throughout the country and do not think about the rest.

I don't know if this is an opportunity to improve as a society.

  • What activities have you rediscovered?

Lately I have felt a great call to musical composition.

  • Have your studies become a problem?

Yes and no. They have become a problem because they have me anxious, collapsed, tired and discouraged; it is difficult to lead a university life in a situation like this. In conjunction with the above, it has not been a problem because studying takes me out of the monotony of not knowing what to do when I am stressed out for so long.

  • Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the pandemic?

With all the things that have happened during this time I prefer to take this with "moderation".
