BLOG 8: ENGLISH LANGUAGE CHALLENGES

Hello everyone. My English experience has been varied, I have suffered and enjoyed it. The truth is that despite all the support from the teachers, I have not been able to learn English. It's hard for me and it's something that eats away at my head. In spite of that, I am very grateful for the instances that I have gone through in the English courses. Regarding the blogs, I think it is an opportunity to get to know yourself as well as your peers, but in English. I have been feeling very bad for a few weeks, and even though blogging can be a nuisance (sometimes), it has helped me to unburden myself of more personal issues. English will be on my path for the rest of my life, and it is very necessary, and I will have to learn to deal with it and move forward. My fluency, listening, writing and vocabulary need to be strengthened but starting from 0. For that, I think I will take an English course in the future -even if I have to invest in it-, since I have nothing to learn with (D...

Blog 7: Changes to my Study programme

Hello to all.  As you see from the title, this blog will be about the Sociology degree syllabus. Given that, there would be a few things I would add to the content being taught.  On the one hand, I would like to see reflections on the concept of postmodernity implemented. Our career is focused on a sociology of modernity but we are not informed much about the concept of postmodernity and why it generates so much controversy. Along with that, I would reinforce a little more about the programming courses that are taught. At first, I would delve into the theoretical aspects of programming. In a second moment, I would delve into programming as such. However, the socioeconomic factor is an important factor when deciding whether the course should last longer or not, given that it is very expensive. My career l...

Blog 6: What do I want to study in the future?

Image
I think the question of what course to study after graduation has always been a question in my head. I think I would like to take four courses -it's a dream really-. 1) On Philosophy, Politics and Critical Theory: since I started studying in college it has really caught my attention. Although I am not a great reader or connoisseur, I would like to test my abilities to critique the world from this framework. If possible, I would like to study in Frankfurt, Germany. 2) Research  Methodology: I am simply very urged not to do this as it is a cornerstone in Sociology. I think I would take a course at the University of Chile. 3) Statistics and programming: I would enroll in this course because it costs me a lot. If I manage to handle it I will be able to contribute to the elaboration of knowledge. 4) Stratification and Inequality: I like theories about class composition, stratification and inequality. My goal with this would be to contribute to the debate to combat abuses and class i...
